Skornyakov Ivan Nikitich was born in 18?? He had his own backyard production. He made rawhide and box calf goods
for shoes and horse harness producing. His bravery was awarded
by three George Crosses that he got just for one war campaign of 1904 -1905 (Russian - Japanese war).
The George Cross was one of the highest awards in Russian army of those times.
To get it a soldier or an officer had to commit a real heroic deed on battlefield.
Many famous people could be proud
of having only one George Cross, but three:! And moreover, got only for one war campaign, -
it really means a lot. Getting four George Crosses - meant becoming a full companion of George Cross.
Ivan Nikitich had two brothers. Before the war, he had five sons and four daughters: Ivan, Nikolay, Alexey, Nikita, Pavel, Natalia, Maria, Anna and Zinaida. Ivan Nikitich went to the war according to his deep internal duty, although he needn't have done it, - those men who had two children had been freed of military service. He told his wife, Elisaveta Efimovna, before going to the war: "Lisa, - who, if not me:?" He was lucky, - he came back to his home, but seriously wounded to the stomach and without left eye. It was on November 26 of 1913 that he took part in the holiday of companions of George Cross organized by the governor of Kursk - Muratov Nikolay Pavlovich. Skornyakov Ivan Nikitich dead of the wounds just before Word War I.
